民進黨2016總統參選人蔡英文即將結束訪美行程，這次定調為「順利」，是否有遺珠之憾？規畫行程的民進黨祕書長吳釗燮開玩笑說，「剩歐巴馬沒見到！」

吳釗燮表示，籌備高層出訪的最高境界就是照表操課，討論過程中確實有一些想做但沒辦法做的，包括本想帶大家與蔡英文去看旅美職棒好手陳偉殷打棒球，但時間配合不上；想請一夥人去喬治城餐廳也沒時間；參觀舊金山漁人碼頭吃螃蟹，也排不上。

此外，為了感謝媒體「不離不棄」，蔡英文7日與自我戲稱為「爆肝團」、「怨念團」的媒體茶敘時，也送上她最愛的舊金山巧克力。她說，記者朋友們要克服時差還有編輯台的壓力，在美國時間採訪、台灣時間發稿，是很大的挑戰；她還開玩笑，幾個不公開行程，「你們跑給警察追，連海軍陸戰隊也要趕你們，這經驗很少有。」
